fan-girl..no one does it like me!

mmmkay random blog about everything!
First of all! Shoutout to Ashley for leaving me really meaningful and useful comments on my review! Thank you my long-lost shirt twin! I've actually gotten a lot of really useful feedback on it, so thanks everyone!
#2- Taylor Lautner looks amazing in the new moon trailor! I must say, I hope they improve the morph from human to werewolf, or i'll be disappointed! It looked cartoon-y and they should actually make the wolf look like Jacob, right?! haha, i'm sure there will be a video soon of me and my best friend's reactions to the New Moon trailor! PRICELESS! and Edward should have let Jasper kill Bella instead of ruining the beautiful piano!
#3- HARRY POTTER shirts are at Hot Topic! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my new one of Harry and Ron Ron! Ronald Weasley = <3 ! Did you see Rupert Grint's arms when they introduced the clip? HELLO!
#4- Goin to see Blink 182 with Panic at the Disco AND Fall Out Boy! I can't believe i'm so lucky to get to see 3 of the best bands of my generation on one stage!
#5- Goin' to see All Time Low two more times this summer! once on their tour, and once at warped!

I live for evenings like today! I got a text saying that one of my friends was balling her eyes out and needed her girls. I don't know what happened, but it was like a fuse got lit, and i rushed out of the house and got to my friends house in record time. We had already planned on getting together to watch the MTV movie awards, and I was expecting to get there and have to comfort her, and not pay attention to the awards at all. But I got there, and there were no tears, no long rants, and no ass kicking. It was like the aroma of having your best friends around you makes you feel better, and you don't need the venting, or the crying. You slip into fun mode no matter what, and it's all good. So we did what we do best. Popped some popcorn, and watched TV and drooled over Jacob and Ron Ron! I never thought that I was anything special, never thought that just being myself would ever actually make a difference in someones evening. I cracked some jokes, and all the drama was forgotten. I was told by someone that my personality is one of a kind, and it's a good thing to hear that I'm liked for being myself, instead of a mask of myself. It's natural in life to want to adapt to certain situations, and pretend to be ourselves. Like wearing a mask where we get to see parts of you, but not the entire thing. Since I realised that it's okay to take the mask off and let my full personality show all the time, and not just with friends, I've been a lot happier, and more satisfied with my surroundings. We search all too hard for answers that are right infront of us.

weird...

It's funny how a common enemy can unite the greatest of foes. I girl that I've never liked, never had anything in common with, i'm feeling sorry for. Mainly because now, we've had our heart broken by the same guy. I still don't like her personality, but my heart goes out to her.
WHATEVER, GO READ MY REVIEW! IT'S DOWN THERE! SCROLL DOWN AND READ IT PLEASE!

Believers Never Die, and niether does tradition

May 12th, 2009 Fall Out Boy will have taken the stage in Cleveland Ohio, with opening acts Hey Monday, All Time Low, Metro Station, and Cobra Starship. Although Ohio is mostly known for bad unpredictable weather, Cleveland Ohio is known for it’s music tradition all around. Not far from the venue is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as many other music venues.

Nearing the end of the tour, Hey Monday, the newest edition to the record label, Decaydance, will be the first to perform. The five piece group of good old American kids from Florida come out with high energy and all smiles. Leaving a lasting impression on the crowd and definitely gaining some new fans along the way.

Following behind them will be one of the best exports from Maryland, the Four guys of All Time Low. As the guitar pics start flying, so do the crowd surfers. Behind the band we see a reminder in pink duct tape about their upcoming album ‘Nothing Personal.’ All Time Low was recognized by a number of fans as being their favorite opening act. Unfortunately, we didn’t see as much hooliganism from them, due to time constraints. Nevertheless, they will leave with the crowd being hyper as ever, and hanging on until the next band.

Metro Station will be next. They were recognized in Cleveland based magazine, Alternative Press in 2007 as being one of the Underground bands that would not stay underground for long. It is now 2009 and I can see that this simple band that formed on the set of Disney show ‘Hannah Montana’ can go places. However there did seem to be a disconnect to the audience. Once they fill that void, they will have a chance to make their mark on punk pop history.

Cobra Starship was another crowd favorite. Their high stage energy and snazzy light show mixed with their punk-pop with a swig of rap, in this case left with high energy fans. Upon asking fans who their favorite of the opening acts were, Cobra won majority of the fan favorite! “The way they interacted with the crowd was just awesome, and they generally have a great performance…” said fan Lauren. However, I wouldn’t recommend Cobra to Fall Out Boy’s younger fan base, as I never heard the phrase, “Put your mother f***ing fangs up!” said by Cobra front man, Gabe Saporta. Nor have I ever seen the same simultaneous hand gesture go up at once!

We came early for the opening bands, but we came for Fall Out Boy. The venue filled with loud screams and cat-calls the moment that they heard the organ opener in ‘Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes’ from Fall Out Boy’s latest album “Folie a Deux.” We then see our musical idols coming on stage. At first impression we are thinking “Oh no! Patrick isn’t wearing a hat?!” After a moment of realization we see that Patrick, Joe, Pete, and Andy are dressed as caricatures of political figures. A common theme strung throughout their latest album, Folie, and their show, is today‘s political endeavors. Being from a generation, mostly with parents from the 70s, our parents never thought that another one of ‘those bands’ would ever speak out against the problems of today’s government and economy. “If you’re not helping the situation, then you are hurting it.” Is what Pete Wentz said about this on behalf of Fall Out Boy. They then went into a montage of political figures and high society folk who are profiting from the latest economic downfall, and went into their hit single, ‘American’s Sweethearts.’ I was impressed at their fearlessness in speaking out, as are my peers. When asked what she felt about the political statements being made, FOB fan Lauren said, “I did feel that it was important for bands we admire to speak out. They are always known for starting trends. Maybe we will start to follow this one.”

So we’ve had our moments of seriousness. We then switch hand gestures from peace signs to the rock and roll hands. Fall Out Boy pleases fans of all types by playing the oldies from 2003’s “Take this to your Grave” and 2005’s ‘on the map’ album “From Under the Cork Tree.” No doubt that Cleveland’s musical vibes help to amp up the bands performance. Even Fall Out Boy concert veteran Holly, noticed that their energy was high, and out of the 9+ shows she’s been to Cleveland was #3 on her list (you can’t blame her. Spots 1 and 2 go to when she met the boys, and her first show). “…they had a lot of energy, and Pete was back to himself. At my last Fall Out Boy show before this one, he wasn’t himself, and he just seemed lost on stage…” As a personal observation, when Pete came on stage and said “Hello Cleveland!” and the crowd erupted in cheers, a near flawless show was in order. Fall Out Boy members are very in sync with one another, and their on stage chemistry. From Patrick’s piano-istic vocal range, to Andy Hurley’s drumming zen, Fall Out Boy will be this generation’s idol band. As the Beatles to the 60’s, Led Zeppelin to the 70’s, the 80’s hair bands, and the 90’s boy bands, Fall Out Boy is the band of the new millennium. Love them, hate them, or pretend to hate them and use them as your guilty pleasure, you still know them.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you think! I plan on sending this for feedback to some really rad people, and I don't wanna make a total fool of myself! also find this on my myspace!
I would like to thank Lauren and Holly for letting me interview them. Lindsey and Becca for putting up with me during this concert. And Ashley for promising to be critical on my critisim!

<3

Sorry, no review yet. I'm working really hard trying to dig up every rad word in my head to put into this review. I'm trying to not be bias just cause i'm an FOB fan. I know that when this becomes official I'll have to pour out good reviews like lemonade, but i'll take advantage of being a beginner!

Not so sure if this whole "love" thing is going to work out. I found something that I truly love with every fiber of my being. I don't know that it's possible for two humans to feel the way about each other, that I do about going to shows. I was totally high on life, and it was the happiest i've ever been. I hate the part afterwards where i have to come back to reality. But all the pain in the world is worth the few hours of total bliss and happiness. I think that that's how a relationship should work. Fights will happen, and doubt will arise, but in the end you know what/who you are meant for, and you live for the moments of happiness you have, and that's all you will ever want or need are those moments. All the pain is forgotten when those moments arise.

So in other words, he's flirting with some other chick, and i haven't talked to him in awhile...stupid boy

So FOB and ATL we're amazing! I got to meet Hey Monday, and they were all sweethearts! Esecially Alex and Jersey! I got dragged into the pit with my girls, and we got our pretty little asses beat...so we got out and stood around all the lame-o's during FOB and I danced and headbanged A LOT! Got lots of glances, and some people even came over to dance with me! I'm cool, who knew? I love my friends who were willing to put up with me during the day! Overall, had the absolute BEST time of my life!!!

Try something, when you look in the mirror, Smile

I am done with school until Fall Semester! So excited for my carefree summer to finally be here!
Got all my shizzle approved at work, so there shouldn't be any problems with anything i wanna do! (Which reminds me, if you know anyone who is intrested in working at Claire's, we are looking for a new part timer at Eastwood!)
I was told the other day that I have a 'captivating smile.' I was pretty bummed out at school because I felt like I did terribly on a final (actual results, still unknown), and I must have looked totally depresed because some guy I've never seen or met in my life said to me, 'I know it's a stressful week, but smile. It's captivating.' I didn't know what else to do but say thanks. Apparantly my smile gave someone a better day, so yeah, it's quite flattering.
That's my Reinvent Love story of the day!
Oh MY Jon! 4 days til FOB and ATL!

It's the way you do the things you do

Hey readers! (all three of you!)
On the off-chance that i have frequent readers other than what blogger shows, I decided to post some things you can look forward to hear from me this summer! Review wise even!
Believers Never Die part deux tour review and some pictures(hopefully)- by the 14th of May
Warped Tour random band reviews and pictures- within a couple days after i get home
Harry Potter movie review- by July 17th
Green Day review and pictures- within a couple days after the concert
A lot of this blog has been me venting about some stupid boys, or stupid people in general. So this summer, I wanna bring quality reviews to the table. I want feedback on these reviews because I plan to mail some to Jason Pettigrew ( Alternative Press). I know that a lot of you want to be nice and make me feel good about what i write, but please, I do want REAL feedback. I'd rather have tough love feedback then 'this is the best review ever!'
I will also be posting all of these reviews on my myspace, and facebook. It's time to get 'Rissa's Reviews' a rollin'! Tell your friends, tell your neighbors!

i gotta feelin', it's a feelin' that you'll never understand

Haven't had time to write in awhile. Been actually doing homework, pullin' all-nighters, and *gasp* studying. Working too...it sucks. I want nothing more than for my perfect summer to be here. Fall Out Boy in 10 days! Harry Potter in 73..or something. Sorry I lost track...i know *gasp* but since they moved the date, all the countdowns are outta wack! Warped Tour in July, New York hopefully in July. Green Day, and the beach and a pool and an amusment park or two! Baltimore too!
I bought a new camera today, it's the bomb-diggity!
Been listening to Rocket to the Moon. AmAzInG! or maybe I'm just a sucker for a red-head...either way it's all good!
It's crazy how the mood your in can effect the type of music you listen to. When I was yelling at my dad, and telling off my mom I was listening to old school Panic! crazy how panic has an old school sound...i want another album!
So does the fact that i am wandering on facebook hoping he will come on and talk to me mean that he's worth my time, or that i am an idiot? Someone please answer this for me...cause i don't know and I want to! Does the fact that I am grasping my phone like a stupid teenage girl, mean that i like him, or that I have no life? answer that too, k?

It's in the way that you fool everyone what your falling in love, again -a rocket to the moon
